The Centre of Ecumene

Ecumene is an Evangelic Methodist Centre designed for studies, community life and worship.
Since the beginning in 1954, Ecumene was being built by volunteers - young Christians from the entire world and various confessions. The initiative of creating the centre came from the Methodist Evangelic Youth under permission of The Methodist Evangelic Church of Italy. Because of them Velletri (a town in Rome district) has become a symbol of the Church uniting in work for Jesus Christ.
Ecumene has become a centre of studies and various aspects of a Christian Community life but it also aspires to be e reference for all who want to make peace and offer justice to nations and individuals, what is the message the churches are suppose to carry on.
Since June to September Ecumene becomes a place full of life. In their turns, here there come children, families, youth and old pensioners. The conducted studies touch usually any actual cultural, political, biblical and theological topics.
Between Christmas and the New Year’s Eve there is an international camp in Ecumene called Assembly of Friends of the Ecumene. Within it there is a reunion of the General Committee.

Young people are great support for the Ecumene’s activities. They offer their time and help working voluntary for the centre.

The centre has been designed to be open entire year, it remains available for churches and democratic associations for their meetings or convents, whenever they ask.
